2019 Avalon Airshow draws a crowd
ICN Victoria recently hosted a successful industry event at the Australian International Airshow, with more than 60 people hearing from three keynote speakers, as well as networking whilst enjoying the flying displays.
The annual airshow, held in Avalon, is considered one of Asia-Pacific's most prestigious aviation and aerospace events. This year’s event attracted about 200,000 people to what is marketed as “the most comprehensive aviation, aerospace and defence exposition in the southern hemisphere”.
At the opening, ICN Victoria hosted Defence Infrastructure in the Victorian Government Chalet, located directly next to the runway.
Brad Eathorne, the Contractor’s Representative for Laing O’Rourke on the Future Submarine Program Infrastructure Development (FSP-ID) discussed the project objectives, the project schedule and how contractors can register their interest through ICN Gateway. He told the audience that the project’s primary objective was to provide the necessary build, test and integration facilities to design, produce and accept into service a fleet of future submarines.
The College is also connecting the workforce and students with employers and the education system, using a national workforce register. Bill went into detail on the focus with industry on critical jobs over the short, medium and long term.
According to Brad Eathorne, the event was “a great opportunity to engage with current and future partners.
“Thanks, ICN for the opportunity to present on the FSP-ID project. I look forward to working collaboratively with you on how we create opportunity and leave a positive legacy for Industry,” he said.
Andrew Bradley, Manager of Strategic Projects and Supply Chains at ICN Victoria said it was “great to see so many enthusiastic people engaging at one of our flagship events. The projects that were discussed provide a great opportunity for Victorian industry to participate in strategically important Defence programs”.
The informative presentations provided attendees with a range of prospective opportunities that can be accessed through ICN Gateway.
ICN Victoria thanks the Victorian Government for allowing the event to be held in their chalet.
